I believe that most of the stuff put on the internet doesn’t give you really a real glimpse of the person. Yes it may give you some body features such as height and weight, interests such as likes or dislikes, or even what kind of bloodlines the person may originate from such as Irish or German etc., but it doesn’t tell you how the person will react to certain things. For instance if you were to question the person in an interview, a what would you attribute situation, or what would you do in this situation, then you would be able to figure out how this person thinks things through and such. This essentially would mold a better picture of the, or type of person that the person you are physically talking to, is all about. You would be able to tell how they react to such situations with energy or dull responses through tone of voice and how much passion, if they do or don’t show it about a specific subject. Facebook doesn’t mean to lack these things, but in essence it is simply just a cover to a book. It gives you just a glimpse of the person. You can give all the information about the person you want and describe them as much as you want, but in order for you to get to know the person you would have to meet them face to face and ask them these types of questions. Facebook just puts the important stuff on that we all find interesting like what others like, what color eyes they have, where they work, what school they go to or what they are studying. If Facebook did put up all the other stuff you would find out deep within a person in an interview it may be too much and no one would want to read it. Our eyes get lazy as reading large chunks of information and typically just want to shoot for the simple stand out stuff that we all find interesting ourselves. Words and adjectives don’t do justice even with a few pictures thrown in to get to know the person. Even if you knew them when you were younger, people change a lot over time, personalities and thoughts completely, all based on who they spent time around growing up or the kind of people they spend their time with nowadays. The older we get the more we shape who we are and what we believe and the more this is done the more our thoughts change because we hang around people who we find similar interests in. They may have something we find interesting too, or something we would’ve never thought up before, and so again, our thought process changes. A person can never be fully understood through a simple Facebook page.
